Martin Marietta Receives Award For Reducing Energy Usage
Martin Marietta was awarded a check from CPS Energy’s Commercial and Industrial Demand Response program for its voluntary effort to reduce energy use on peak demand days during the summer. This is the fifth year Martin Marietta has participated in the program.
In 2015, Martin Marietta reduced energy consumption at the Beckmann Quarry and three additional facilities to an average of 3,842 kW during June through September. They were awarded an incentive payment of $119,102 from CPS Energy for their efforts.
CPS Energy’s Commercial and Industrial Demand Response program is a voluntary load curtailment program for industrial and commercial customers. The program incentivizes customers to shed electric loads on peak summer days.
